Mt. Diablo Dog Training Club, Inc.
is a non-profit organization dedicated to dog training. We offer affordable classes in all levels of training from Puppy Head Start to advanced competition level classes for those pursuing AKC or All American obedience titles. We also offer classes in conformation, Rally and NoseWork. Our instructors are AKC obedience ring judges and/or accomplished professionals who show their dogs. In addition to our classes, we hold an annual AKC licensed Obedience Trial, an annual Show & Go workshop, an annual AKC licensed Agility Trial, and Canine Good Citizen tests throughout the year. We also hold obedience seminars as well as other dog-related seminars, such as earthquake and disaster preparedness, and canine ophthalmology!

At MDDTC, we welcome all breeds, mixed or purebred, and all ages, puppy through seniors. We emphasize a positive, fun environment where our approach to training dogs consists of 3 elements: 1.) Teach 2.) Practice 3.) Correct in a gentle, respectful way. We stress the 3 C's: Consistency; Communication and Compassion to self and to the dog. During our classes, we use reward-based training methods as our experience has shown us that use of such methods is the best way to teach behaviors to our dogs. Our goal is to teach owners how to teach their dogs to be happy, healthy members of the family. In our competition classes, we prepare handlers and their dogs to enter the show ring if they choose.
