Puppy Head Start 1 & 2

Class Description:

The Puppy course is designed to teach fundamentals of dog care, the formation of good manners, and to help the shy puppy gain self-confidence. This class is for the new puppy owner and experienced dog owners. The class format is a short lecture and floor work with your puppy. Subjects include:
• housebreaking,
• basic manners,
• first aid, nutrition,
• grooming,
• introductory obedience (hands-on).

We are proud to offer the American Kennel Club S.T.A.R. Puppy Program as part of our Puppy Head Start Class at no additional cost to those that wish to participate. In order to receive the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy designation, your puppy must attend at least 6 of 7 classes and successfully complete specified behaviors. We provide further details about the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program during the first class.

Pre-requisites:

Shots: Puppy must have at least first permanent DHPP shot and rabies required after 4 mos. of age.
Age: Puppy Head Start 1: 10 weeks to 20 weeks of age by the start of the first class.
Age: Puppy Head Start 2: More then 20 weeks up to 12 months of age.
----The curriculum for both classes is identical. The only difference is the age of the puppies.

NOTE: To register for a class you will need to download the registration form, fill-out, and send with payment & copy of proof of shoots to the address listed on the form.  

  

Class is held at Pet Food Express Store located at 500 Center Ave. in Martinez.
